Prince Endymion
Alias: Ender Age: 17 Family:
- Aethlios, 42, King of Earth
- Kalyke, 39, Queen of Earth
Rank: Prince of Earth Power(s): Unawakened power of the Golden Crystal; slight psychometery (touch-telepathy (especially dreams), intimate connection with Earth that allows for locating people, and limited healing abilities)
Traits: Endymion strives to be the ideal Prince of Earth, modeling himself after both his father and grandfather, with hints of fairytale princes read from storybooks thrown into the mix – he strives towards this ideal, as he strives towards any ideal he takes to heart. Chief among the principles he holds himself to and truly believes in are the principles of peace and kindness, especially towards those of lower status than him; etiquette, chivalry and respect, to treat others fairly, decently and cordially, the way he would wish to be treated; sincerity, for truth is of the utmost importance; trustworthiness, responsibility and reliability, as those are the keys to earning respect and showing it. It is that code – the code of a ‘perfect prince’ – that he strives towards; unfortunately for some, his innate stubbornness often holds those around him to the same strict code, as well.
In order to keep to his ideal, Endymion often doesn’t show his true emotions, keeping himself reigned in even in situations he personally detests (such as interviews with ladies of court who simply insist he must meet with their daughters/nieces/sisters). Outwardly he is calm, level-headed, and a tad detached… unless, of course, someone is going against one of his ideals. He will challenge even the strongest and most adept of knights if he sees them abusing their powers, acting without courtesy or respect, especially towards those of lower status.
While he acts with confidence and strives towards what he believes is right, on occasion Endymion is struck with insecurities about himself, his mission, sometimes feeling as though the weight of the world were on his shoulders alone. Though he has best friends in the Shitennou, he often doesn’t share all of his cares or worries with them, knowing that they would have no answers and not wanting to worry or burden them with his nonsense.
Habits: Staring: Endymion has the habit of staring at people, especially looking a person in the eye when in conversation with them. He does so to enhance his listening skills, but some feel off-put by the strict attention. And, sometimes… he’s staring but doesn’t even realize it, thinking of other things entirely. It doesn’t exactly creep people out, just has a tendency to unnerve some.
Description: Endymion’s Royal Attire consists of a long sleeved, high-necked black jacket, ornamented with silver piping on the sleeves and the chest and a strip of golden piping at the neck with ornamentation that mirrors the chest design; it is complimented with a pair of black slacks, most of which are covered by a pair of dark leather boots, knee-high with a tough covering to protect his knees. The ensemble is completed with a long red-lined black cape that hangs from his shoulders, held in place with golden chains attached to silver decorative buttons. Serving as both official Royal Attire and battle attire, this outfit is often complimented with strong, shining iron shoulder guards and a metal encasing for his torso that stretches from ribline to hips, breaking on either side to cover the upper parts of either leg. A long sword, encased in leather gilded with gold, with an iron pommel and bronze crossguard, rests at home on his hip, strapped in place with leather.
Another high-ranking outfit he wears on occasion is one that matches the uniforms worn by his Shitennou: like his Royal Attire it consists of knee-high boots, slacks, and long-sleeved, high-necked jacket; except this jacket is tunic-length and cinched below the waist with a belt. The jacket is left unadorned and fastenes asymmetrically with a button; Endymion’s piping color in this garb is golden, to mark his status as the Prince of the “Golden Kingdom”.
Lastly, he retains garb reminiscent of a commoner: simple brown slacks with reinforced knees, soft brown shoes, a white rough-sewn woolen tunic cinched with a rope belt with a brown leather vest: the attire of a shepherd. Around his neck he wears a simple cord with a small decoration that, when examined, would prove his identity as Prince Endymion, but otherwise looks nondescript.
Appearance: Even without his royal heritage, some might have claimed Endymion to be the Prince of Earth based on looks alone. While he continues to grow and mature, already his is a beauty that is spoken of throughout all of the United Terra Kingdoms; a visage that Terrans are proud to call their own, for his attractiveness easily matches or surpasses the beauty of the ethereal beings from the Moon Kingdom. He is a tall youth, standing near six feet and growing, his body neither skinny nor brawny but instead lean and toned through his practice with a blade. His being emanates a feeling of strength and security, a sensation intensified when looking into his dark blue eyes, eyes the same color as the sea. His hair, black as night, is cut into a fashionable style of the times but has its own hints of rebelliousness in puffs that tend to stick out and away from his head; the unmanageable cowlicks serve to remind people of his age and are normally remarked upon with affection by ladies of the court. By anyone’s standards, Endymion is undeniably handsome.
Strengths:
- Unshakable – No matter what problem is thrown Endymion’s way, he faces it head-on, focusing on what he knows about the situation in order to deal with it as effectively as possible. It is very unusual to see him stunned.
- Intelligent – Endymion picks up on things rather quickly, understanding complex ideas relatively easily and in a way that the knowledge is easily transferrable.
- Emotionally Strong – He rationalizes situations rather well, and so does not give in to emotional crises often. Outwardly, at least. He is a dependable person to rely upon in times of turmoil.
Weaknesses:
- Having his motives questioned – Endymion is the way he is to make life better for everyone. He fights the good fight, stands up for the weak, respects the world; to be judged and to have his motives for these acts questioned makes him mentally backtrack. Is he really doing what he does, acting the way he does, because he wants to, or because he expects himself to? Occasionally this may lead to questions of self as he wonders who he really is, and what worth he has. Being unshakable, he would continue to act in the same confident, respectful manner, even as he internally reels.
- Occasionally prone to identity crises – see above
Hopes:
- Put an end to current land-disputes
- Stave off any war between Earth and the Moon Kingdom
- become a Great King
Fears:
- Failure
- To be thought of as untrue; an actor.
- finding himself unfit for the throne.
Background: Prince Endymion was born in the middle of summer to much fanfare and celebration – the first born of the new King Aethlios and his beautiful wife, Queen Kalyke, and a healthy son to boot! The entire Kingdom of Earth toasted their new Prince, wishing him a long and healthy life, and a world-wide gala was at hand. From the corners of the world, the Four Kings of Terra eagerly travelled to court to see their future ruler, each bringing his own young son to foster at Elysian to be a companion, confidant, and protector of their new Crown Prince, and a new place of honor with the King.
When they arrived and found that their idea had not been original, that the other three had also brought their own child, the four began to squabble, wars of the recent past still fresh on their mind. It was Helios, the young High Priest of Elysian, who came forward with the solution: four protectors, four guardians for the young Prince, one from every direction, every kingdom. Each King would be respected and honored for providing the young heir with a guardian, and their egos were sufficiently soothed. Helios, however, saw more than pacifying the four aging Kings, looking instead to the future of Earth itself. The five young Kings would live and grow together, developing friendships and trust amongst themselves and a respect for each other that would last their entire lives. This would cement the strength and solidarity of the newly unified Kingdom of Earth, and lead to a peaceful future for all. The four new guardians were called the Four Heavenly Kings and would return to live full-time at court on their fifth birthdays. One young boy, Kunzite, stayed on at Elysian from that very moment forward, already being of age, and became Prince Endymion’s senior guardian, the leader of the Shitennou.
During his third year of life, the toddling Endymion surprised the Elysian castle with news of his powers: specifically, that of psylocation. The young boy lost a toy that was dear to him and, wanting it, employed his psychometry powers as easily as another child would stretch his arm; putting his palm to the ground he thought of the object, searched for it, and found it. Running to retrieve it from a non-obvious place, a nanny asked him how he knew and his only reply was that he could “see” it. Word from there travelled quickly; his parents, worried, consulted with High Priest Helios who explained that young Endymion had innate powers within him. His parents were thrilled, but on the very day of the excitement, tragedy struck and a young girl was forcefully removed from the palace to exile in a remote castle. Endymion, having never truly met her, was left ignorant of the matter entirely.
As he grew and developed, so did his mysterious powers; from location through searching the Earth (which made games of Hide and Seek alittlemore difficult for his four friends) to seeing people’s dreams or some event in their immediate future when he touched them, to healing with his hands, Endymion’s peculiar powers fueled through energy passing through his hands continued to find itself useful and pleased his parents greatly, but was kept a secret to anyone outside the palace’s circle for safety reasons.
Endymion’s teenage years brought changes not only to him but to his kingdom; old disputes and new started once more among the small holders, disputes over property boundaries, rivers and ponds, and as their distaste for each other grew, so did the distaste between the Four Kings. As sparks started to fly between the Four Terran Kings, their sons fought to keep the peace between them, Prince Endymion trying his best to act as moderators between his friends whenever debates became too heated even between each other. As situations start to bubble towards a boil, Endymion is trying to keep his Kingdom unified under the ideal of peace.
RP Sample: Leaf after leaf of paper turned beneath ink-stained fingers, reports moving from a decreasing stack on the left to an increasing pile on the right, the soft sound of progress the only noise to disturb the silence of the large, echoing workroom. Suddenly there came a pause, a near-inaudible whisper reading off a line from the document, fingers running over the line as the Prince of Earth read the passage aloud to himself. Booted feet echoed as he moved from a crowded desk to a giant table, the boundaries of the Kingdoms of Terra and their larger provinces outlined in thick black lines, some lines straight and complete, others smudged and redrawn over and over again.
Deftly, Endymion plucked up a different colored writing utensil and forged a new path through a territory, breaking from the established lines to follow the path of a river whose bed had slowly changed over time. Reading once again through the document, he turned his full attention to one of the areas under great dispute and examined the territory closely for what felt like the hundredth time. Hesitantly he placed a boundary to a nearby river, following the blue path south, but paused, rethinking; surely the eastern territory would feel he was favoring the western for giving them larger tracts of land, despite providing equal use of the river and its clean water. He sighed, drawing the line anyway, his brows creased thinking of the loud protests of the involved lords.
Greed was an ugly beast, one that was running rampant through his kingdom, taking lives as surely as any mythical monster would. Unfortunately, he thought as he shook his head, putting the paper back on the desk, greed is not so easily defeated. ----------- He awoke slowly, softly, to the cold caress of an evening breeze. His eyes opened marginally, looking about him as he tried to place himself. He lay in the grass in a soft meadow field, dew forming on the blades around him. To his left were trees whose upper branches glowed with the last hints of golden sunlight as insects of summer chirped around him, singing to the oncoming night; glancing up a hill he saw the pillowy sheep he was tending, milling about, still sampling the green blades, their tails flickering contentedly. He smiled – how peaceful it was to lay watching the sunset colors creep across the sky, to see the quarter moon glowing brilliantly among the colors. He sighed with contentment, turning his head to the side and considering another short nap, but then he found he was not alone.
Surely, he was dreaming…
A girl, impossibly beautiful with eyes like the morning sky, skin as pale as alabaster, and lips as pink as the baby roses in his garden, crouched watching him with the hint of a smile. His brows furrowed – he had never seen anyone like her before, especially one who looked so young and yet had hair more luxuriantly silver than any elder he had ever come across, and longer than even the most proud woman at court. She wore a gown of gossamer silk that seemed to float around her in a way he had never seen before, ways he was sure master-level weavers had never even dreamed possible. Surely, he was dreaming, and so, surely, she would speak with him.
“Who are you?” Endymion, guised as Ender the shepherd, asked plainly, his tone curious and nonthreatening as he propped himself up on his elbow to gaze at her.

Other:
Experience: ^^’ quiiiite some time, though Sailor Moon only recently, starting fall of last year. IF YOU WOULD LIKE EXAMPLES: Batteries (Me as Mamoru in a RP wherein Tarans, a race of humanoids, come to Earth to steal the senshi to use their sailor crystals as portable power sources; Mamoru, taken in as a senshi and then rejected as a ‘mistake’ when they’re like “um, that’s a boy” befriends a mechanic on the ship and searches for his friends, finding a few alien senshi along the way. ^^ Still looking for people (senshi and original senshi!) if anyone’s interested; it’s on the Galaxy Cauldron’s roleplay forum and is really casual) Thunderstorms of Sailor Moon Revelations (again, I’m Mamoru)
Why do you want to play this character? ._. I am a Mamoru nut. His whole person just intrigues me – he’s so complex and strong and seemingly perfect, but he’s nowhere near as perfect as he pretends to be! He doubts himself, suffers through crisis of person – something I had always wondered about during the Silver Millennium! As Tuxedo Mask he had issues because he didn’t understand the strength of his own powers and constantly struggled under his perception of his inability to properly protect Usagi – he thought himself worthless in any way but to provide her with unending support; it was only when his Golden Crystal was discovered and fully awakened by Usagi during the SuperS arc that he really came to understand that he is her equal in every way, completely balancing their relationship. But, the Silver Millennium? What did he have to wonder about himself? Why would he suffer from analogous identity crises? He’s the Prince! Uncontested, and without Serenity around to protect, he would never know the extent of his powers or have to deal with feelings of inadequacy when surrounded by villains many times his apparent strength. Perhaps, then, at first did he wonder about himself? Did he hold himself to high standards, lead himself to believe that the truly embodies them, and then was shaken by the notion that he only follows those standards because he tells himself to? It’s just such a human and common problem! “Why am I doing this? Is it because I want to and I truly believe it’s right, or is it only because it’s expected of me?!” And then there comes the whole mess when he really does meet Serenity! I mean, if she divulges to him that she feels most powerful around him, she feels complete and warm (as the manga said), how would he take that?! Their planets were on shaky terms and he’s falling head over heels for their Princess! What if things escalate?! Their love could unify the kingdoms, but it could also tear them apart! What of his duties to his planet?! Things are shaky at best right now in his kingdom; he should be marrying from one of the Kingdoms of Terra to cement relationships, not pursuing the affections of an alien princess, even if she’s all he could think about!
Gaaah so I’m thinking it’d be fun. ._.

Question! sorrysorry; please delete afterwards. ^^' It said in the Plot information that Earth was involved in petty land disputes? Which lands are fighting? Is the entire planet under the control of one King at Elysian, or are there territories beyond it that remain 'free' and are they fighting the King's rule? Is one of the four Terran kingdoms rebelling? Is it a big dispute, or tiny little ones that the Prince of Earth wouldn't have to concern himself with?
._. just 'cause this might affect Endymion's history. ... and outlook on life. ... and fears and hopes. XD

Basically, all of Earth is united under one monarch. However, they each have monarchs to guide the four big nations (where each shitennou comes from).
The Terran Kingdoms are having disputes with each other like "That one section of land next to that river, is mine." They're getting into conflicts within nations and there are small wars among the nations.
At this point in time, they're cool with the King. There are a lot of cultural warring between them. It's causing a tear in the unity of the kingdoms.
Does that make any sense?

^^' Only the RP sample remains. When it says "This Character Only", are you meaning like an introspective "All alone, just chillin'" post, or can I throw some NPC's in there for reactions and such?
... You know, I'll try that "Just him" approach. it makes the most sense in an RP situation. ^^' I should have it up today.
