Power(s): Nephrite is able to manipulate his shadow in order to possess things or bring inanimate objects to life, allowing him to be at a certain location without having to actually be physically present. He is also able to commune with or read the stars.
Abilities: Nephrite is pretty good at his shadow abilities, and being that he always was devoted to the stars since he was a kid, he's excelled in that area as well. Nephrite is also a very skilled swordsmen and a skilled tactician.


Traits: Nephrite is considered vain, conceited, and often ruled by his more fervent emotions. He is almost always proud of himself, and it shows! Though he's tactful and often has wonderful plans that he's determined to follow through, it's his cockiness or his equally profound temper that tends to muddle things and get him into stickier situations. He is seen as the bigger brother of the group, and therefore he sees it's perfectly alright to badger his "siblings", especially Zoisite, Jadeite, and even the Prince Endymion himself.
Habits: Besides bullying the other Shitennou and the Prince? Nephrite enjoys the night sky, reading the stars as well as recording them. Of course, he loves to boast and be the all around arrogant guy.
Description: When training, he wears a grey uniform with red accented lines around the collar, sleeves and the hem. He wears black boots. Otherwise, he wears a tan uniform with a accompanied with a matching cape just as his other comrades would.
Appearance: Nephrite is a rather tall man (just slightly smaller than Kunzite), with a strong and sturdy build, muscles and all. Nephrite's quite aware that he is a handsome man. He has long and well-groomed wavy auburn hair that comes just below his shoulders, which he is very proud of, with deep and intense blue eyes. He wears his confidence like it was a second skin to him, and he loves the swooning that comes from the Terran ladies~.

Strengths:

• Powers - He has a good handle on his own abilities.
  
• Strong - He's a stalwart warrior when it comes to physical strength, and is only second to Kunz.
  
• Intelligent - No where near as smart of Zoi, but he is a pretty good at his own plan-making.
  

Weaknesses:

• Arrogant - He can be too into himself. ....No, no, he's like that all the time. >>
  
• Emotional - He's truly governed by his emotions, and be called moody even.
  

Hopes:

• To make sure that Endymion will become a great King.
  
• Unlocking more secrets of the stars.
  
• To help the Prince lead Terra into prosperity.
  

Fears:

• To be seen as weak and inferior by anyone.
  
• Failing to protect his prince and his "brothers."
  

Background:

A string of miscarriages and nearly fatal deliveries for the last twenty-five years would prove that Queen Mairin's body just could not handle the stress it would take just to carry another life for nine months. Though her husband King Atlas, fifty, was saddened by this conclusion that he had his wife would not live to see a son of their own flesh and blood to take the throne, he nonetheless moved on to rule his people.

The Queen, however, was not satisfied. In attempts to gain child she desperately followed all the wives tales whispered amongst her ladies in waiting and maidens in court, swallowed down vile elixirs and potions to strengthen her fertility, with no avail. And, when no hope was left, the Queen did the only thing she could do. She prayed to the stars.

His parents named him Nephrite. Mairin's ladies of court at first gossiped, saying that the child was but a falling star, and not human at all. But no one dare continue this belief, as the boy slowly began to inherit the curly auburn hair and eyes of his mother, and the athleticism and height from his father. The King and Queen were quite overjoyed with their son, with Mairin being a little more than protective over her child in fear that she would lose him just as she had lost her other children.

Nephrite grew to love the night sky, especially the stars that came from it. His parents were a little concerned with their son's obsession, but they loved him so dearly that they fed his love for the stars, buying him charts to record and telescopes to watch the night sky. When he grew older, he was called by the Golden Castle to be a guard to protect the young Prince. Nephrite did not care, so long as he would be away from the smothering of his dear mother.



RP Sample: A youthful man with an auburn mane stared adoringly at the women who had always been the loves of his life. He stood beneath them all, watching, gazing intently at their glowing forms with pure satisfaction. His initial regret of passing up at defeating his pathetic younger Shitennou comrades Jadeite and Zoisite and wiping their leering expressions off their faces at the training grounds had disappeared once he was in the presence of the night sky.

Nephrite did not know why his mother had so much apprehension in his adoration for the stars; he had once heard from his childhood nanny that the woman had in desperation prayed continuously over them for a child to call her own, and that she believed that he was a child of the stars. When he had developed a fascination for the skies, she had somehow feared that Nephrite would soon be going back to his home, and increased her protectiveness of her boy.

He, out of all of the Shitennou, was the most happy when he heard the news that he was to be sent off to be the guard to Prince Endymion.

Why do you want to play this character? Besides the fact that I need to work on my menz as far as roleplaying goes and that we need more of the guys to guard Endymion from the clutches of the Moon twit? Well....okay. Out of all the Shitennou, Nephy has always been by far my favorite. I think he's quite handsome, and I loved his flowing hair~! Plus, Nephy/Jupe is one of my favorite fanfics right after Mars/Jade, and I never liked the Naru/Maxfield Standfield in the dub. Yuck! Instead, I wanna thread out that softer side to the so called hardass, with Jupiter being that lady maybe? Haha!
