Age: 184, but doesn't look a day over 16. Of course, if asked how old he is, his answer always changes. It amuses him to watch Endymion and his companions guess.
Family: A long time ago, Helios had a mother. She was a shrine maiden at the temple, chosen to birth the next in Elysion's line of priests. She cared for Helios for many years until she passed on. Helios has not seen her in a long time, but sometimes he still dreams of her.

Position: The High Priest serves the royal blood and is magically bound to the vitality of the planet and the golden crystal. It is the priest's sacred duty to commune with these magics and guard and educate the royal bloodline. As priest, Helios will live as immortal until such a time as he is destined to be replaced.
Abilities: Helios is a healer and seer. He is blessed with the gift of foresight and can heal both magically and is an expert of more mundane methods such as brewing poultices and growing healing herbs, etc. He is also very knowledgeable in part because of his age, but also because he maintains the temple's archives.
Traits: Helios is gentle and soft spoken, introverted but not 'shy'. He becomes terribly bashful around someone he is attracted to, making him seem painfully innocent, even though he is old and quite experienced in the ways of the world. Helios is deeply devoted to the royal bloodline and his duties. He loves the prince, as he would love a son, and has watched the boy grow into a noble young man. Helios typically carries himself in a very calm manner, appearing to be every bit the immortal priest that he is, but something about the magic that keeps him young, keeps him very boyish. He doesn't look a day over 16 and sometimes it shows in his character as well. He is perhaps, where dreams and tellings of 'Peter Pan' would originate from in the future. Earth's own eternal boy.
Description: Helios wears priestly vestments, white robes with gold medals that have blue tails. The sleeves are transparent. He also wears gold bangles and ear rings crafted from Elysion Crystal. On his forehead is the red tear drop representative of Earth's Royal Blood. It is adorned to his brow in symbolic reference to his eternal servitude. Helios very rarely wears ANYTHING else, although he does own a few simple brown robes and cloaks.
Appearance: Helios has eyes the color of gold. Some say they were once blue, but changed when Helios was ordained, taking on the color of the Golden Crystal. He has snow white hair, perhaps the ONLY sign of his true age. It curls around his face like whisps of clouds. Physically, Helios is very delicate, almost womanly. He speaks in soft dreamy tones, and every movement he makes seems light.
Strengths:
- Knowledge. Helios does not possess the raw intelligence of Mercury. His knowledge comes from years of experience rather than natural knack.
- Diplomacy. Helios is naturally agreeable and has often times help to make peace when the prince and his men come to disagreements.
- Strength of heart. Helios cares very deeply and feels everything with a great amount of passion. This allows him to truly feel for the people he helps. He is the sort to feel empathy as opposed to sympathy. This is especially true where the royal blood is concerned, thanks to his magical ties to them.
Weaknesses:
- Fickle with Low Self Esteem. He is quick to fall into pessimistic moods and quick to give in to melancholy.
- Weak. Physically, he isn't anything special. He is a scholar not a warrior. He is also exceptionally dainty for a male.
- His health is tied to the planet and to the royal blood. When misfortune falls upon the planet or the royal blood, it affects him like a curse, making him ill and it draws away from his power.
Hopes:
- To see Endymion grow into a good and wise king.
- To see the Earth prosper for years to come.
- Secretly pines for things he feels he will never have: a lover, children, simple pleasures that a family can bring...
Fears:
- The prince/Earth being harmed under his watch. He fears failure. He never asked to be priest, he was born to it, and while he loves his priesthood, he often fears he was the wrong choice/not good enough.
- He fears for the Prince on a more intimate level, because he loves him as a son. Helios may never have his own children, so when the king had a son, Helios doted on him. If Endymion were ever hurt, Helios would grieve as a parent.
- He fears he may die alone, never having truly loved.
Background: Helios was born a long long time ago. When the last priest had a vision that his time was soon to come, he laid with the shrine maiden, Thea. Thea gave birth to Helios and cared for him for nearly 7 years. She passed on and from that point Helios was raised by the other shrine maidens of the temple. He was prepared to take the priesthood from a young age. When he was 16 he was ordained. The last priest passed away, and Helios has seemed to be about 16 ever since. He has served at least 4 generations of Earth's royalty before Endymion. Endymion was first that Helios took a personal love for. He felt devotion for others, truly, but he has loved Endymion like a child, perhaps because around his birth was when Helios finally began to feel pining for his own children.
RP Sample: Helios brushed his fingers over the old dusty tome. There. "Here, My Lord, I believe these are the texts you were looking for." But of course, he had already lost the young prince's attention. He smiled fondly, watching Endymion wonder through the archives, eating an apple. "My lord," the youthful priest cleared his throat. "My lord, I've found the texts." Having the prince's attention again, Helios held out the tome. "Now, be very careful with the pages. They are quite old." His lips curved up into a wry grin. "Although, I dare say, not quite so old as me."
