Family: Michiru's mother died in childbirth. Her father never took another bride and is always off world, leading his troops. In fact, Michiru hardly knows him. She has one older brother who is very controlling and over protective.

Abilities: The Princess of Neptune is a true artist, and takes naturally to most art forms: from painting to song and dance.
Traits: On the outside, Neptune is prim and proper, the very picture of a princess. Inside, though, she is very lonely. She hides it well. She expresses many of her emotions secretly, through her art. She is slow to trust, but loves very deeply, and she can, at times, be surprisingly cold. She has a very dry and witty sense of humor and always speaks her mind.
Habits: She has a habit of humming and singing, especially when she is zoning out into a painting, or thinking deeply about something. When she doesn't like someone, she simply ignores them, unless they provoke her- this is part of what makes her seem cold to others. She paints or plays music to calm her mind. Neptune also enjoys swimming, when she can get away from her brother long enough to enjoy anything outside of the palace. She takes her duties as senshi very seriously, almost obsessively. Her duties as a senshi give her an excuse to get out of the palace and away from her brother. It's also a matter of honor and her hard work reflects well upon her people.
Description:Her royal dress gowns are very elegant and range from various shades of teal to pearly white with blue/green accents. When she is not dressed as a princess or as a warrior, she relaxs in bathing suits or dressing gowns. Although, to be fair, she wouldn't be caught dead in public wearing anything so casual. She usually dresses her very best in her finest gowns
Appearance: Neptune is tall with creamy white skin, long teal hair that flows in waves like her planet's oceans, and deep blue-green blue eyes. Her fingers are long an elegant, perfect for painting or playing instruments. Her smile is soft, but sometimes also aloof.
Strengths: Please describe in detail.
- The Arts: Do to her cloistered upbringing, Princess Neptune learned to excel in all forms of art- everything from painting to singing to dancing. She had little else do to in the palace and no real friends to share her time with. Her art is her passion, her truest form of expression, and yet also her bane. It is just one more thing she's created to place high expectations on her.
- Diplomacy: Princess Neptune knows exactly how to hold herself, how to hide her emotions, and how to speak with almost anyone. She can play almost any part and she has a very silver tongue.
- Determination: Princess Neptune is nothing, if not a hard worker. She holds herself to very very high standards, and slaves to meet those standards.
Weaknesses: Please describe in detail.
- Her Determination is also a weakness. She works herself until she is exhausted and she takes her duties so seriously that she often forgets to take pleasure in life. Also, she holds herself to such high standards, that no matter how perfect others may thing she is, she hates everything she puts out. She feels as if her work is never good enough.
- Princess Neptune, despite her feelings of never being good enough, is also surprisingly vain. She secretly looks down on others who do not work as hard as she does. She is too polite to say so, but in her mind she views many of her would be friends as lazy and weak. For these reasons, she has failed to relate to most of the people around her, and she looses interest in befriending any of them.
- She can have a very narrow mind when it comes to her goals. Once she sets her mind upon something and makes a plan, it is hard to push her off her path, even if her path is wrong.
Hopes:
- If I join the RP prior to Neptune meeting Uranus, I would say that one of her prime hopes is to fall in love, but that the desire seems futile. She has never taken any interest in the suitors that are thrown at her. She's never even so much as looked at a man before, and she is beginning to wonder if she must be too cold to love.
- She hopes to someday prove herself capable of independence, so that she may get her brother off her back. He treats her like a glass doll or a favorite toy. This desire motivates a great deal of her perfectionism.
- Her perfectionism is also influenced by her desire to get her father's attention. He is the only parent she has ever known and he is never there. She often fears he blames her for the death of her mother, and wonders if he can't bear to look at her. She wonders if she is the reason he is always gone. So she works very hard to be the perfect daughter, hoping that he will come home and be proud of her. This is perhaps one of her strongest wishes: that her father be proud of her.
Fears:
- Neptune is afraid of dying alone, never having loved, never having friends, knowing that she means nothing to anyone, save for her status.
- She is terrified of losing her sight or injuring her hands--anything that would damage her ability to paint/play music/ listen to music, etc. Her art is one of her few releases, and if she lost her ability to make art, she would have nothing left that really made her happy.
- She fears her brother, for reasons she doesn't fully understand. He seems to be the last person in the world who would hurt her, being as protective as he is. But the way he watches her almost seems obsessive, and it's very unsettling. She hates being in rooms alone with him, and will make excuses to be elsewhere or keep her ladies in waiting with her.
Background: Neptune lead a very sheltered her life. With her mother dead, her father always gone, and her older brother keeping a very close watch on her- she learned to make herself happy and learned to be her own friend. She spent her days studying the arts, and growing ever more in love with each art form. She relished opportunities to get away from the palace, but those were few and far between- trips to the beach were one of the few things her brother indulged. Her ladies in waiting attempted to befriend her, and while she put off the perfect appearance of a charming young woman, she secretly disliked them all and never opened up to anyone fully.
RP Sample: Neptune gazed deeply into her mirror. It reflected the dim light from the lamp at her desk, flecking the skin of her face with a soft shimmering pattern. She looked right through her reflection, seeing everything and yet nothing at all. In her meditative state, she felt an icy chill settling in the pit of her stomach. What does it mean? she pondered, as she came back to herself. Setting the mirror gently upon the desk she turned her gaze out the large window beside her. The smell of salt water wafted in on the south breeze. She shivered and wrapped her delicate arms around her slim body. Standing to her feet, Neptune walked to the window and drew the blinds closed. You're thinking too much, Michiru. Perhaps it's time to relax...

Experience: Too long. I've been RPing since I was a teenager, and that was about 8 years ago.
Why do you want to play this character? Michiru has always fascinated me. Many people dislike her for being too perfect, but I see so many little imperfections in her apparent perfection. Just like a statue or any other work of art- she can be beautiful, but also cold. I love exploring this character and imagining what makes her tick, what might have brought her to this point. I also love playing opposite Haruka because it gives me a chance to show Michiru's more human side, when she relaxes, and lets her imperfections show.
